The Université du Québec à Montréal (UQAM) is a French-language university known for being dynamic, open, creative, and internationally oriented. Its central campus and Pierre-Dansereau Science Complex are located in Montreal's lively Quartier Latin and Quartier des spectacles districts, accessible by metro and bicycle. UQAM offers more than 375 study programs in areas such as arts, communications, education, health, management, political science, law, science, and social sciences. It has four additional campuses in the metropolitan region. Each year, it welcomes over 5,000 foreign students from 95 countries and maintains agreements with more than 400 institutions in 60 countries. Research Infosource (2020) ranked UQAM 1st in Quebec and 8th in Canada in research funding among comprehensive universities. UQAM is a pioneer in fields like public relations, actuarial science, sexology, social law, design, visual arts, feminist studies, and social economy. The university's École de langues offers language courses, including French as a second language.
