The Architectural Association (AA), founded in 1847, is one of the oldest architecture schools in the UK. Its founding aspiration was to promote and provide facilities for architectural study for public benefit. The AA is committed to generating and disseminating ideas that challenge and advance contemporary culture, cities, and the environment. It also provides financial support to students, with one in five currently receiving scholarships, bursaries, assistantships, or hardship funding, and aims to expand this support. The school constantly looks to the future and emphasizes fearless exploration of new ideas.
